SUNS OF THE TUNDRA Writing New Material

April 24, 2007

London-based psychedelic-prog-metallers SUNS OF THE TUNDRA (the rebirth of '90s cult U.K. band PEACH, former home of TOOL bassist Justin Chancellor) have scheduled a number of summer live shows in support of their second album, "Tunguska".

The guys that offered up PEACH's "Giving Birth to a Stone" in 1994 (reissued in 2000 re-re-released this year through Sony BMG),the members of SUNS OF THE TUNDRA have once again shacked up in London somewhere writing new material between shows, due for unveiling at some point in 2008.

Commented PEACH/TUNDRA singer/songwriter Simon Oakes, "SUNS OF THE TUNDRA has evolved into a really exciting musical collective. When we're jamming out new ideas there's a very cool vibe and we really bounce off each other creatively. The four of us [Oakes, Andrew Prestige on drums, Andy Marlow on bass, Mark Moloney on guitar] create the bulk of our music, then we have another great situation where some of our musical friends from other bands etc. come in to add a saxophone or keyboards or percussion here and there for example, and that really helps add even more dynamic to the 'TUNDRA sound. The new project we're working on right now will be unveiled next year and we like to think it pushes the boundaries of what a rock band can do, or is 'supposed' to do."
